REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES features a group rarely portrayed in mass media: complex, deeply human, hard-working Latina women shown with love, humor, and pride that defies stereotypes and common misrepresentations. The film is based on the play by Josefina Lopez, which is based on her own experience. REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES recently won the Dramatic Audience Award at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival; cast members America Ferrera and Lupe Ontiveros won the Special Jury Prize for Acting. The film opened the New Directors/New Films Festival at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in March 2002, and most recently screened at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2002.

10/14 - LOVE IN THE TIME OF MONEY
On a dark and blustery evening, a prostitute
(Vera Farmiga) gets picked up by a "john" as he drives by
her regular location - a secluded waterfront corner with Manhattan's
skyline glitteringin the distance. The experience is unsatisfactory
for both of them; the man, a carpenter (Domenick Lombardozzi), can't
perform properly and the streetwalker never gets paid. Thus begins LOVE
I N THE TIME OF MONEY, a quintessentially metropolitan roundelay set
at the height of the 90's Nasdaq boom. In the film, nine New Yorkers,
representing a cross section of society, are linked by sex, romance,
and commerce, and often all three.

Set against the bright lights of Manhattan,
Roger Dodger is a comic, urbane look at the modern male ego at war in
the singles scene trenches. Campbell Scott, in a brave, hilarious and
utterly convincing performance, stars as Roger Swanson, a hopelessly
cynical advertising copywriter with a razor-sharp wit who believes he
has mastered the art of manipulating women. But Roger’s seemingly
foolproof world of smooth talk and casual sex begins to unravel when
he is paid a surprise visit by his teenage nephew, Nick (talented newcomer
Jesse Eisenberg).
Hoping to settle once and for all the issue of his virginity, Nick begs
Roger to school him in the art of seducing women. Welcoming the challenge,
Roger guides Nick through the city’s wild nightlife for an all-night
crash course, only to realize that he still has something to learn about

A witty stylish film written and directed by Dylan Kidd, Roger Dodger features Isabella Rossellini as Joyce, Roger’s boss and sometime girlfriend, as well as Jennifer Beals and Elizabeth Berkley as two single women who give Roger and Nick an experience they’ll never forget. With sharp and clever dialogue, Roger Dodger provides insight into the way some men think about women, one man’s philosophy on the pursuit of amour as well as equal time for frank thoughts from a woman’s point of view. Artisan Entertainment will release Roger Dodger October 25th.
