4/17 - THE BIG KAHUNA
Danny Devito, Kevin Spacey, Peter Facinelli
When a film explores a philosophy, or a moral statement, there is a lot of room for disaster. This film completely evades disaster through tremendous acting and a wonderful storyline. What makes the film so powerful is how open it is left for personal interpretation. Even the director, Swanbeck says that no one should make a definitive statement as to what the last scene of the film truly means. It has personal and profound meaning.
Featured Guests - Director John Swanbeck and star Peter Facinelli . Host Bob Campbell.

4/10 -PANIC
William Macy, Donald Sutherland, Tracey Ullman, John Ritter. Quirky, off-beat drama/black comedy. Suspensful, tense with moments of being a thriller. Dry, smart, well acted and well directed. Superior dialogue. Hip enough to stimulate, yet not inaccessible. Slick, nice look - high production value. Featured Guest Producer Lori Miller (Long Kiss Goodnight, Open Season). Hosted by syndicated columnist David Sterritt.
Info

BOSSA NOVA - Starring Amy Irving. Directed by Bruno Berretto (Four Days in September) Rio de Janeiro's wonderful scenery and beautiful music make this film worth seeing, especially with your girlfriend or wife!

STANLEY TUCCI TO OPEN FILM SERIES

Now Presented with The Participation of www.BigStar.com "The Superstar MovieStore"

The organizers of Coming Attractions have announced the line-up for their upcoming 14th season, now presented with the participation of BigStar.com "The Superstar MovieStore". The group presents private, preview screenings followed by a live discussion with directors, stars and producers. They have recently expanded the program format to include high caliber films, guests and audience discussion now with a different host each week. "We strongly feel that this will bring a fresh, new insightful perspective to the preview film experience," says organizers Mark & Ira Ehrenkranz.

Opening night April 3rd, will feature a live appearance by actor/director Stanley Tucci. Mr. Tucci is best known for his acting work in: A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Imposters, Deconstructing Harry, The Pelican Brief, Prizzi’s Honor, The Daytrippers, Kiss of Death, on HBO as Walter Winchell, and on TV in Murder One. He directed Big Night with Campbell Scott and will be accompanying his newly directed film Joe Gould’s Secret at The NY Film Critic's Series.

Joe Gould’s Secret stars Ian Holm, Steve Martin, Susan Sarandon and others. It is an evocative excursion into Greenwich Village in the 1940’s, a period when artists and writers established genuine community and a place where an intellectual misfit named Joe Gould (Ian Holm), an eccentric, Harvard-educated, social dropout stalks the streets.

The Spring line-up includes special guest hosting by: former New York Post Senior Film Writer -Thelma Adams – now East Coast Entertainment Editor for US Magazine, Daily News Movie Critic -Jami Bernard, Bob Campbell of the Star Ledger, and syndicated columnist David Sterritt.

A few other of the featured films scheduled are Panic – starring Donald Sutherland and William Macy, The Big Kahuna with Kevin Spacey and Danny DeVito, and 2000 Sundance Favorite – Spring Forward with Campbell Scott and Lili Taylor.

"Our new team of industry experts utilize their national and international influence to get the finest films and guests in the business. Preview the better films not available at the multiplexes. Why travel to small art houses or crowded NY theaters when you can privately experience pristine prints of the highest quality on a big screen with a state-of-the-art sound system?" suggests The Ehrenkranzs.

Area Premiers have included: All About My Mother, Mansfield Park, Tumbleweeds, Gods & Monsters, Central Station, Tea With Mussolini, The Winslow Boy, Affliction, Shine, Get Shorty, Casino with Special Live Appearances by: Joan Allen, Aidan Quinn, Steve Buscemi, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Edie Falco, Anthony Quinn, John Turturro, Alan Arkin, Danny Aiello, writer/directors Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver), Sidney Lumet (Serpico), John Schlesinger (Midnight Cowboy) and many others.

The Series is sponsored by Big Star.com, "The Movie Supertstore" and is held at the largest house in the Tri-State area (800 seats).
